The country trains bright scientists and engineers, then loses many of the best — at its most selective engineering university, up to half of each graduating batch goes for good. ORIYET turns that loss back into an asset: bringing Bangladeshi experts working at the global frontier into classrooms, labs, and national research problems at home, remotely and repeatedly.
One Shore
DiasporaBangladeshi Expertise Worldwide
The Other Shore
Students & Researchers at Home
Students meet Bangladeshi scientists and engineers working at the world's research frontier.
A student in Rajshahi learns what a global career demands while there is still time to build one.
Seminars, symposia, short courses, and hands-on training, taught by working researchers.
Curriculum and lab practice move years forward without a single new building.
Expatriate specialists paired with local groups on health, energy, agriculture, and industry.
Problems the country now imports solutions for start getting solved inside it.
Real projects put high-school and undergraduate students at the bench, then make them mentors to the cohort behind them.
A homegrown research pipeline, instead of one that starts only after a student leaves.
Symposia and conferences that bring collaborators, reviewers, and funders into contact with work being done in Bangladesh.
Local research becomes visible, citable, and fundable beyond the country's borders.
Training aimed at the jobs and ventures that exist now: industrial R&D, computational skills, and how to run a laboratory.
Graduates in work rather than in waiting, which is the surest foundation for a settled society.
A living research culture gives young people demanding work of their own — careers to build, problems to solve, ventures to start. A generation busy building something is not a generation adrift.

This is the capacity gap ORIYET exists to close.
Up from 9.7% in 2013. Degrees are not translating into work.
Among the lowest rates in the world, and falling.
Whatever this generation is given, it is given now.
Real stories and research breakthroughs from students, faculty, and industry leaders worldwide.
